Israel agrees to build 277 housing units in Ariel settlement

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that the success of the approach to the United Nations to request full membership of the State of «Palestine» will enhance access to a peace agreement with Israel as soon as possible.

قال الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس إن نجاح التوجه إلى الأمم المتحدة لطلب عضوية كاملة لدولة «فلسطين» سيعزز فرص الوصول إلى اتفاق سلام مع إسرائيل في أقرب وقت.

وشدد عباس في مقالة له، نشرتها صحيفة «القدس» المحلية أمس الاثنين (15 أغسطس/ آب 2011)، على أن التوجه إلى الأمم المتحدة ليس بديلاً عن المفاوضات، «فمازلنا نؤكد أن المفاوضات ستبقى خيارنا الأول للوصول إلى السلام، سواء قبل سبتمبر/أيلول أو بعده بل وأكثر من ذلك».

وتابع قائلاً: «نحن نعتقد أن نجاحنا في هذا المحفل الدولي سيعزز فرص الدخول في مفاوضات جادة متكافئة الواجبات تضمن الوصول إلى السلام في أقرب وقت، ونعني بالمفاوضات الجادة تلك التي تستند إلى مبادئ الشرعية الدولية ومبدأ الأرض مقابل السلام».

وحدد عباس ثلاثة أسباب للتوجه الفلسطيني إلى الأمم المتحدة، «أولها أن المفاوضات الثنائية قد وصلت إلى طريق مسدود، وثانيها أن الحكومة الإسرائيلية لم تعطِ مؤشراً واحداً ولم تمنحنا بصيص أمل بأنها مستعدة للعودة إلى المفاوضات الجادة المسئولة التي من شأنها أن تفضي إلى حل عادل ودائم للنزاع في المنطقة».

وذكر عباس أن ثالث الأسباب هو «أن القوى الدولية الراعية لعملية السلام باتت عاجزة عن إقناع إسرائيل بتنفيذ ما عليها من التزامات وبالكف عن سياساتها الاستيطانية والتهويدية التي تجعل من عملية السلام أمراً محفوفا بالمخاطر».

وأشار عباس إلى أن الفلسطينيين يتعرضون لـ«ضغوط وتهديدات من إسرائيل وحلفائها بهدف ثنينا عن التوجه إلى الأمم المتحدة»، مؤكداً في الوقت ذاته على المضي في هذا الخيار اعتماداً على دعم أغلبية دول العالم.

من جهة أخرى، أعلنت وزارة الدفاع الإسرائيلية أمس إن وزير الدفاع ايهود باراك أعطى الضوء الأخضر لبناء 277 وحدة سكنية جديدة في مستوطنة ارئيل في شمال الضفة الغربية في عمق الأراضي المحتلة.

مصر تقود مفاوضات مكوكية وغير مباشرة بين «حماس» وإسرائيل لإنجاز صفقة الأسرى

كشفت تقارير إخبارية أن القاهرة ستشهد أمس جلسة ثانية من المفاوضات غير المباشرة بين إسرائيل وحركة «حماس» من أجل إنجاز صفقة تبادل أسرى، وهي مفاوضات تقودها مصر من أجل إطلاق أعداد كبيرة من الأسرى الفلسطينيين في السجون الإسرائيلية في مقابل الإفراج عن الجندي الإسرائيلي الأسير في غزة جلعاد شاليط.

ووفقا لصحيفة «الحياة» اللندنية فقد عقدت الجلسة الأولى من المفاوضات غير المباشرة بين إسرائيل وحماس آخر الأسبوع الماضي في القاهرة بعد زيارة قام بها كل من الجانبين الفلسطيني والإسرائيلي والتقى خلالها الجانب المصري الذي اتخذ قراراً بإعادة إطلاق المفاوضات بعد أن كانت الصفقة متعثرة.

وقال مصدر مصري رفيع للصحيفة :»لا يمكن الحديث بعد عن اختراقات جرت في هذه المفاوضات» . وأعرب عن أمله في أن يبدي كل من الجانبين المرونة الكافية من أجل إنجاز الصفقة
